Braces for adults

The choice of orthodontic appliances available today, including invisible braces, has meant more and more adults are opting for treatment for cosmetic reasons.

Some of the more common reasons adults come to us for treatment include:

  • to improve the appearance of the teeth and face
  • to correct teeth which have crowded with age or have started to drift following gum disease
  • to move teeth prior to crown, bridgework or implant work
  • to improve the health of the teeth and gums
  • to improve function i.e. to make it easier to eat

Starting your treatment

At Share A Smile Orthodontics, we recommend our patients come in for a free consultation so we can assess your individual treatment needs and whether or not you can benefit from orthodontics. If you are interested in going ahead with treatment, photographs, impressions and all the necessary records will be taken.

Our orthodontist will then analyse the information and inform you of all your treatment options and the costs involved. Usually this can be decided at the initial appointment; however, if treatment is more complex a further appointment to discuss treatment may be needed.

Alternatively you can come in and see our treatment coordinator for a free 20 minute appointment. No clinical advice will be given, but we can inform you of the appliances we offer and the payment plans we have available.
